Sleeping Beauty

What would the December holidays be like without seeing the beautiful production of Sleeping Beauty at the National Children’s Theatre (NCT), in Parktown? Multi award winning director Joyce Levinsohn has adapted this classic, originally written over three hundred years ago by French author Charles Perrault, for modern-day audiences. When a beautiful princess falls under the spell of a wicked sorceress, only the sweet kiss of a handsome prince can save her from eternal sleep. From "once upon a time" to "happily ever after", this fun, interactive tale of fairy godmothers, magic spells and true love is enchanting enough to excite the children and with enough wit to make the occasion special for adults too!

Following on the smash-hit production of Puss in Boots and other Tails, Sleeping Beauty is a romantic, thrill-filled show that combines a gripping story with lively music and some specta-cular song and dance routines. A kaleidoscope of colourful costumes and a unique set, for which the NCT is famous, will assist a dynamic cast in transporting audiences into the fantasy world of make believe.
