A Kinder, Gentler Way to Play
Is our society becoming overly hostile? Is personal success becoming more important than teamwork and team values?
Family Pastimes is a Canadian company, started 30 years ago, that designs and manufactures co-operative games. Jim Deacove, an educator, could not find games that reinforced family values for his children, so he designed and made his own. These games are now sold all over the world and have won numerous awards.

Christmas is coming. The most valuable gift parents can give their children is to play with them and to teach them to play together. Sibling rivalry can be turned into camaraderie and invincible team work. Nucleus Toys, suppliers of top quality and unique educational toys, has a large range of these games for three to eight year olds. And they are as much fun for parents
to play as they are for the children. |
Imagine you and your children pitting your combined efforts in games like The Secret Door. In this game valuables have been stolen and must be found. Together you search through the mansion for clues. The team must identify valuables hidden behind the secret door before midnight comes. At midnight, the thieves may slip away with all the hidden booty. Each game is exciting and tricky. Adults and children alike have a wonderful time testing their memory and planning together to solve the case.
