Puzzle Your Children with Animals

Give young children lots of fun with this unique six-in-one puzzle. There are sixteen solid wooden cubes in the set with one part of a colourful farm animal pictured on each side. Rotate the cubes in the wooden tray (which is included) to complete the six different and playful animals! The border design provides a helpful hint.

Now that you’re into the animal theme, extend your children with other related activities (source www.preschoolrainbow.org):

• Looking for Animals: Gather several old magazines and ask your child to look for and cut out pictures of animals. Help him glue the pictures on a large sheet of paper. Then ask him to name as many of the animals as he can. Write each name under the picture and spell out the letters as you write.

• Game – ‘Guess the Animals’: Animal biscuits make this fun game a treat for pre-schoolers. Adapt the game for older children by playing charades or Pictionary. Place zoo biscuits in a bag and invite the children to take turns pulling a biscuit out of the bag. Younger children can act out the noise the animal makes or movements the animal does. The other children have to guess what the animal is. Older children can act out the animal any way they need to or play Pictionary instead. Participants get to eat their animals after it has been guessed!
