Children: Books

Each page features a picture of one of the many interesting creatures found on our seashores. The pictures are uncoloured and accompanied by short, interesting explanations. Each picture in turn relates to a colourful key found in the centre of the book. Children can colour in and learn at the same time (published by Random House Struik).

• Astro Boy. In this futuristic tale viewers follow the adventures of a boy named Toby who becomes the very special Astro Boy. Astro is filled with good blue core energy and special abilities and as a result must face many obstacles. While reaching for his own destiny Astro helps others at the same time (Nu Metro Home Entertainment).

• Seven Years in Tibet. This film, starring Brad Pitt, is the true story of Austrian mountaineer, Heinrich Harrer. Set during WWII, the story centres on Harrer’s imprisonment in a prisoner of war camp, his subsequent escape and his eventual refuge in the Forbidden Holy City of Lhasa in Tibet. In Tibet Heinrich develops an extraordinary friendship with the Dalai Lama. An intriguing film (Nu Metro Home Entertainment).

Lodge recently. The book contains pictures of gardens in South Africa deemed by Nicola to be beautiful. Gardens featured include the picturesque Makaranga Lodge. Nicola is author of Beautiful Homes and the originator of Decorex (published by Struik Lifestyle, an imprint of Random House Struik).
